Program and Conference Tracks

The ANTSHE Conference 2018 is coming to Charlotte! Join us for three amazing days of engaging sessions, intense networking, and celebration. Collaborate with leaders of adult learner programs and organizations whose focus is adult learner success, and get exposure to innovative ideas and leadership to help you and/or your adult learner program be successful.

The ANTSHE Annual Conference will convene administrators, advisors, nontraditional students, and other leaders in higher education to explore the topics and issues that we are passionate about. We will take a look at trends in higher ed, share ideas, and combat some of the tough challenges that adult learners face today. We will swap contact information through networking and gain peer support. 

Regardless of whether you participate as an individual or will be part of a team, make this a comprehensive experience and take advantage of the many opportunities below. 


Leadership Programming 

Keynote & Spotlight Speakers -->

ANTSHE keynote and spotlight
speakers will empower your
organization, discuss important
trends and issues within higher
education, help you to
accelerate change within your
college/university, and maybe
even help you get inspired. 
    President's Panel -->

The president's from four colleges or
universities will participate in an
engaging discussion to battle
assumptions, discuss leadership
issues, and will also take part in a
moderator-led Q&A session.
Leadership Roundtable -->

The ANTSHE Roundtable focuses on
adult student questions, discuss important
issues that have a direct impact on adult 
students, and engage in intensive
networking with peers and experienced
academic professionals and other leaders
in higher education.

Hub Central

Common areas act as a meeting places in between plenary and breakout sessions, and offer these experiences:

Registration Area: The conference registration area will be open from 7:30am to 5:00pm on Thursday and Friday. 

ANTSHE Drop-In Station: Come and join us in between sessions for coffee and some informal networking with ANTSHE Board Members and attendees. Topics and times can be found on the conference schedule.

Relax & Recharge: Need to recharge? Recharge yourself while you charge your device. Stop by the charging station and while you are waiting, pick up an energy bar or snack and recharge your mind and body. This is also a great time to meet others and chat, do some work, or to just take a moment and catch up on your day.

Collaborate: If you are looking to meet with others and need a space for a group meeting or to collaborate with others on different topics, meeting tables in this area can provide the perfect gathering place.

The ANTSHE Conference Sponsor Showcase features exhibitors specializing in campus solutions centered around and in support of the adult student, adult learner programs, and provide opportunities for student growth. In addition to exhibits, several activities can take place in the sponsor showcase, plus refreshment breaks.

Special Events: ANTSHE provides many opportunities for attendees to network, collaborate, learn, and gain the skills needed to support adult students and contribute to their success in a positive way. Whether it is an adult student learning ways to handle the every day challenges they face, trying to juggle work, life, and school, or an academic professional or organization that supports adult students or works with them in some capacity. ANTSHE Conferences are focused, educational, energized, and fun! During the conference, there will be plenty of time to meet people, network, and learn, but the end of the conference day can be another time to learn. You will have the opportunity to experience a different kind of learning outside of the conference with a few special events exclusive to the ANTSHE Conference 2018!  Join us for one or all of the following events, included in your conference fee. 

  • Pop-Up Classes: Take part in one of our Pop-Up Classes that will invite you to expand your knowledge outside of your everyday. Pop-Up Classes will run concurrently on Friday, March 16 from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

-Communications And Real-world Digital Solutions (CARDS) Training


  • Dinner & Painting Party: Eat. Paint. Enjoy! Take advantage of this opportunity to relax and enjoy dinner, then immerse yourself into art to create a beautiful painting of the "Flowering Dogwood", North Carolina's State flower! No experience necessary. Your instructor will walk you through the painting step-by-step. No supplies are needed, but we do recommend you pack an old shirt (just in case)! Conference tracks have been carefully developed to focus on adult learner success and the issues facing them today. Presenters have extensive experience, are knowledgeable, and their topical discussions are categorized into the following tracks:

  • Track A: Initiatives to Nurture Social Cohesion in Adult Learner Success
  • Track B: Equity in Education: Academic Disparities from the Adult Learner and/or Administration Perspectives
  • Track C: Academic Professionals Serving Adult Learners
  • Track D: Addressing Academic Challenges to Build a Cohesive Working Relationship Between Adult Learners and Administration
