Subject: Request to Attend the 20th Annual ANTSHE Conference 2017
Dear [Appropriate persons name],
The ANTSHE Conference 2017 will take place March 23-25, 2017 at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. The Conference offers three full days of educational insight and networking opportunities from accomplished industry leaders. It is widely regarded as one of the only conferences focusing on non-traditional students and the administrators, advisors, faculty, and networks that support them. Therefore, I am writing to request approval to attend, as I believe it will further build my knowledge and skills, to be able to improve programs that support non-traditional students within our organization and to share best practices.
The Conference (www.myantshe.org/2017Conference) offers comprehensive, educational sessions presented by leading industry speakers. It will cover a number of critical issues pertaining to non-traditional student success and emerging concepts facing the colleges/universities that support them.
If I attend ANTSHE Conference 2017, I will receive:
•Over 24 hours of educational sessions. This year’s conference program includes relevant sessions, led by some of the top experts in the field. This year, more concurrent sessions will be held throughout the day, so you can attend more of them. PLUS, some of the sessions will be roundtable discussions, giving you the ability to interact with more presenters.
Keynote Sessions and presentations from thought leaders representing a wide range of disciplines within and outside the realm of higher education will inspire and motivate. To include, a panel discussion of Presidents and Chancellors from across the country, moderated by none other than Dr. Belle Wheelan, President of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges! This is sure to be a very enlightening and dynamic event!
•The conference will also give me the chance to better understand the latest trends from industry leaders and guest speakers from ANTSHE.
•I will have the opportunity to enjoy 8 hours each day of high level networking not counting breakfasts and breaks. Throughout the course of the three days there’s several opportunities to network, including special events, so I will have a chance to talk about our program and develop rich relationships and contacts.
•In addition, to having access to key sponsors. I will be able to access live product demonstrations and have one-on-one face time with sponsors.
The approximate investment for my attendance is as follows (complete the information as appropriate):
*The Conference has specially negotiated hotel rates for attendees ranging from $53.95-$119/night at various hotels within close proximity of the conference.
I believe the insights learned by attending the 20th Annual ANTSHE Conference can help avert costly retention scenarios. Since adult learners have different needs, it is imperative that we understand these needs and develop new and innovative ways to support them. With 8.2 million students enrolled over the age of 25 years old and NCES projecting an increase of 14% (NCES, 2016) in the near future, we cannot afford to miss this opportunity to improve our programs and relationships with this important demographic.* The cost of a Full Conference pass seems a small price to pay for actionable intelligence that will help our college/university attain and retain the number of adult learners attending our college/university.
When I return from the ANTSHE Conference 2017, I will be happy to prepare a short presentation reviewing speakers presentation notes, the useful exhibitor product information, new contacts made and a proposal for implementing new ideas that will benefit our team. I will also make available any Conference materials to my fellow colleagues.
To benefit from the current rate, I need to register before March 22nd. I appreciate your quick response. Thank you for your consideration.
