"The Fight for Academic Equity: Creating Social Cohesiveness Between the Adult Learner and College"

A Special Thank You to our conference attendees, spotlight speakers, and keynote speakers! During this conference we had the opportunity to learn about some of the factors related to social capital among teachers and professors, how to create a cohesive environment for adult learners, both online and on campus. We also had the opportunity to learn some new rules for engagement for university leaders, and finding ways to connect with adult learners. We had the pleasure of learning from some of today's leaders in higher education like Dr. Robert Hill, Professor Emeritus (NSU) & Higher Ed Consultant/Speaker/Author, Dr. Kennedy Maranga, a professor in research methods, leadership and global studies, law & public policy. We also heard from Dr. Susan Elkins, Chancellor of the University of South Carolina Palmetto College, who taught us the importance of continuing education and how it can help economically challenged areas and how her institution partnered with other institutions in order to help nontraditional students finish their degree programs and achieve their academic goals.

We also thank Dr. John Bannister, the volunteers, and Johnson C. Smith University for all of their hard work and for hosting the 21st Annual ANTSHE Conference. During the 3-day conference, we also had four all-inspiring spotlight speakers that talked about motivation, overcoming obstacles, and ways to step outside of your comfort zone to be able to help yourself and others to be successful. Paul Artale, Amy Waninger, NuLuv Jones, and Dr. John Bannister shared their insights, stories, and recommendations on how to achieve your goals and live the life you want.
