Venita R. Thomas

Ph.D. Student in Interdisciplinary Studies from Union Institute & University

Venita “Vee” Thomas, a native Cincinnatian served in the U.S. Army as an Executive Administrative Assistance [71 Lima] assigned to the G2 (Military Intelligence) for Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 3rd Infantry Division; Würzburg, Germany. Venita graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management, Master of Art in Labor (Law) & Employment Relations and from Xavier University (Cincinnati) with a Master in Education. Venita is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Union Institute & University (Cincinnati) majoring in Higher Education; her dissertation will focus on African American female veterans and the transition breach between military and civilian career preparation. In Addition to being an Adjunct Associate Professor, Motivational Speaker & talk radio host- some of her community involvement includes the YWCA and Serve City & Chosen (Hamilton, Ohio) Board of Directors, Chairwoman for Vocation Consulting Creation sponsor of G.R.O.W. (Girls Ready and Organized for Work) which is a six week Summer program for teenagers focusing on Business as a career. Venita’s passion and calling are mentoring those under-served and underprivileged. Venita’s Motto: "Nothing beats a failure but a try, so NEVER GIVE UP!".
