Dr. Lucinda Blue

Assistant Business Administration Professor and Academic Advisor at Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in the Adult eLearning Program


Dr. Lucinda Blue is currently an Assistant Business Administration Professor and Academic Advisor at Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in the Adult eLearning Program. With her thirteen (13) years of teaching online and on campus, she currently teaches business and computer science courses at JCSU for the past four years. She has served as Assistant Dean of Curriculum for the Graduate Programs, Chair of School of Business Graduate Program at another 4-year accredited university. She has experience in course design for campus and online usage that adhere to the learning outcomes using Blooms Taxonomy as a guide to utilize technology and pedagogical and andragogical models. Other teaching skills include, but not limited to:

1) Practiced project leadership and management skills through effective communication, strategic and fiscal planning, resource management, and thorough documentation.

2) Developed online teaching procedures to ensure students understand guidelines and faculty communication to be effective in the virtual environment.

Lucinda’s other professional experiences include: Project Manager/Consultant, Duke Energy Corporation, Charlotte, NC, where she provided Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and documentation for controls and service organizations; 2) Managed the IT HelpDesk for the corporation except for the nuclear sites; 3) Developed and implemented the enterprise Business Continuity Planning strategy and awareness; and 4) Maintained and supported the risk management intranet / website.

Lucinda has earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration w/ a concentration in Management and Information Technology Systems from The Union Institute & University, Cincinnati, OH; M.B.A. from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina; B.A. Economics, Magna Cum Laude, Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, NC; and a Certificate Project Management, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte, NC.

  • Information Systems Audit and Control Association
  • NACADA (National Academic Advising Association)
